Delta Nu Executive Board Members attend Keystone Conference

Earlier this semester, nine members of the executive officer board attended the Beta Theta Pi Keystone Regional Leadership Conference in Jacksonville, Florida. Each of the officers were able to collaborate with other officers of the same positions at different chapters in order to streamline their roles and optimize their effectiveness within their own chapters. As well as improving their own positions, they were able to garner more of an understanding of how Nationals are run and some clarifications of policies. In the end, the goal of the conference was to improve not only the leadership of our chapter, but also allow our executive board members to be more knowledgable on other chapters' way of doing things.
Looking forward, the Dragon Classic is coming up on Saturday, April 27 at 2pm. If you are looking to register, the link is available under the Dragon Classic tab under Alumni on the top banner. Registering for the event comes with 18 holes of golf, a Dragon Classic hat, and Dinner at the Shack on April 26. We are looking forward to welcoming back a lot of great Delta Nu Alumni for a great event!
Delta Nu Members Attend UIFI Conference, as well as 179th General Convention of Beta

The Delta Nu chapter had many exciting events occur over the summer. Firstly, we are thrilled with the announcement of our new house, "the Shack", that we will own indefinitely for the next three years.
In other news, Delta Nu member Keith Griswold attended the 4-day UIFI leadership conference located at Indiana University. The prime focus here was about both going back and being leaders in our own chapters, as well as in the Greek community all together. They also discussed ideas surrounding the need to work together to improve the image of Greek life in the news, in addition to how important our rituals are and understanding where our organizations come from. Finally, they spent a day doing community service, attending a women and children's center where they organized clothes and furniture that had been donated.
Lastly our chapter President, Mitchell Saunders, as well as Vice President, Chandler Hawsey, attended the 179th General Convention of Beta Theta Pi, where they talked about the history of the fraternity as a whole, and the direction we want to move in for the future.

Delta Nu Hosts Annual Beta Lei Philanthropy Event

The Delta Nu chapter wrapped up their annual philanthropy event - “Beta Lei” - this week. Benefiting the B+ foundation, Beta Lei is a week long event consisting of various team-based competitions such as bubble soccer and a flag football tournament. Overall, proceeds from the events as well as individual donations totalled over $10,000!
The B+ Foundation honors the memory of Andrew McDonough who lost his life to Leukemia at the age of 14. Andrew was a star soccer player from Wilmington, Delaware and was diagnosed with Leukemia just hours after leading his soccer team to a state championship. The name of the foundation is derived from Andrew’s blood type, B-Positive, which is the slogan of the foundation. Andrew inspired thousands throughout his life, and the B+ Foundation strives to carry on his spirit through their ever-growing charity.

Delta Nu Sends Delegates to National Leadership Conference

For the first time in recent memory, the Delta Nu chapter sent delegates to the award-winning John and Nellie Wooden Institute, a five-day leadership workshop for undergraduate members of Beta.
The four attendees, Mitch Saunders, Chandler Hawsey, Harrison Hart, and Jordan Byrne, travelled to Oxford, Ohio where they had the opportunity to meet 75 other Beta undergraduates from around the country, sleep in the Alpha house, work in the Administrative Office, and explore the beautiful and historic campus of Miami University.
The Wooden Institute focuses on the theoretical and practical concepts of leadership and how those apply in a chapter setting and beyond. Those five days were no vacation and included early mornings and late nights as the men partook in a series of small and large group discussions, team building challenges, and community service. Of course, participants studied the example of legendary college basketball coach, John Wooden, who was a Beta himself.
We would like to thank Beta Theta Pi for putting together such a comprehensive program, the Beta Theta Pi Foundation for their generous funding, and the four members of our chapter who attended. We look forward to next summer!

Delta Nu Chapter Finishes Amongst Top IFC GPA Rankings

The chapter continued its mission for success in the classroom with a second consecutive semester finishing in the top 3 GPA's amongst all IFC organizations. Delta Nu had the second highest GPA in the spring semester, following a third place finish in the fall. We look forward to continuing the hard work in the classroom as the fall semester comes around!
2017 Dragon Classic Golf Tournament

The Delta Nu chapter concluded the spring semester with the seventh annual Dragon Classic Golf Tournament. Featuring a round of golf at The Walker Course, the Dragon Classic has been a great way to further alumni connections to the chapter and allow newer members to meet and interact with the Delta Nu alumni. This year’s tournament, coordinated by Cameron Keramati, was a huge success with over 80 golfers in attendance. The night before the tournament, the alumni had a chance to reconnect with one another at an informal dinner at The Esso Club. The dinner was a new addition to the Dragon Classic and, thanks to the strong turnout, is sure to be continued as part of the event in the future.
After a beautiful afternoon on the course, the three-man team of Cole Krantz, Sanders Sullivan, and new member Bryce Hailey took home the win, finishing at 57. The day was capped off with dinner and a raffle at the Walker Course clubhouse.
Special thanks to all of the alumni who participated in this year’s Dragon Classic, and for your continued support of the chapter. We look forward to seeing you all in the fall when football returns to Clemson!

Delta Nu Takes Home Five Awards at Annual Greek Awards Banquet

Our chapter picked up five awards yesterday evening at the annual Greek Awards Banquet. The presentation was hosted by Order of Omega in the IPTAY Suite of Memorial Stadium. It is designed to honor the contributions and achievements of chapters and individuals from all four Greek councils on campus (IFC, CPC, NPHC, MGC). A list of the awards can be seen below:

We are both proud and humbled to receive these awards amidst the number of high quality of organizations within this community. We cannot thank Ted Moore enough for his contributions to the chapter in alumni relations and everyday operations.
Chandler Hawsey, a sophomore from Irmo, South Carolina, was nominated for his work in revitalizing our philanthropic endeavours this past fall semester. Bryant Tiller, a freshman from Monkton, Maryland, was selected for his outstanding contributions to the chapter in such a short time as a member.

Delta Nu Chapter Sponsors Hole and Four Man Team at Cadden Classic

As part of the first annual "Samapalooza", the Delta Nu chapter sponsored a hole and four man team in Friday's Cadden Classic.
Hosted at Clemson's own Walker Course, the round kicked off with a shotgun start at 1:00 PM. This was followed by dinner and live music at the Esso Club. The fun continued Saturday morning with the "RC and Moonpie Downhill Run", beginning at the President's House and ending at the Esso Club. The run is named after Robert Cook Edwards, the eighth President of Clemson, and his wife, Louise, who was affectionately referred to as Moonpie.
Samapalooza is a two day event designed to raise money for the construction of the Samuel J. Cadden Student Memorial Chapel. We've had a number of brothers invest their time and efforts in this project and felt this was a great opportunity to invest in our own Clemson community.
Harrison Sipe, Bud Daniel, Sanders Sullivan, and Chase McCathern made up the four man team. While we didn't win, everyone had a great time playing and supporting a wonderful cause.

This weekend a group of 50 of our brothers headed out to Firelake Paintball in Anderson, SC for one of our semesterly brotherhood events. The competition was fierce as we divided the teams among pledge classes, upperclassmen and lowerclassmen, and even North vs. South. We played various styles of games from speedball to capture the flag. After about three hours of play and a sufficient amount of pelting, we ended the day with a line infantry style of shooting (for those brave enough to participate).
The paintball was followed by pizza at Joe's New York Pizza in Clemson. It was the perfect Saturday afternoon before our "Second First Annual Dale Sr. Memorial Function" that night at Palmetto Ridge. Brothers and their dates came dressed in their best NASCAR themed attire. Entertainment was provided by Dean Dollar.

Clemson Knocks Off No. 1 Alabama to win 2017 CFP National Championship

In what is sure to be remembered as one of the greatest National Championship games in college football history, the Clemson Tigers defeated number one ranked Alabama, 35-31, to win their first national title in 36 years.
A number of brothers from the Delta Nu chapter were in Tampa for the game, some lucky enough to have tickets and others watching around the stadium. Some brothers enjoyed the celebrations in downtown Clemson where large projector screens were set up for students.
Sanders Sullivan, a senior member of the chapter, was working behind the scenes with a press pass for Tiger Illustrated. Sanders was kind enough to share some of his photos and videos from the game, which can be seen below.
The brothers of the Delta Nu chapter are incredibly proud of the efforts put forth by our football team. The University of Alabama played an incredible game and will surely continue to be title contenders for the foreseeable future.

Delta Nu Chapter Takes Home First Place in Homecoming Float Competition

Lead by our Float Chairman, Joseph Trabucco, the chapter worked throughout the week of Homecoming to bring Joe's design to life. The structure features multiple three-dimensional pieces, including life size models of Clemson legend Perry Tuttle and current quarterback Deshaun Watson, as well as a smaller version of the newly constructed Oculus.
Initial construction began Sunday evening, and continued throughout the week, finishing up early Friday afternoon. On Wednesday night we received a special visit from Head Coach Dabo Swinney. The brothers enjoyed grabbing a few pictures with him and showing him our progress.
The winners were announced Friday evening and our float was awarded first place in the non-moving category. Joseph and Mallory Davis, Chi Omega's Float Chairwoman, were recognized on the field during a timeout of the Clemson vs. NC State game.
We were greatly assisted by the members of Chi Omega and Pi Beta Phi, the two sororities with whom we partnered this year. Their attention to detail and organizational skills were a key part of the team's success. A special thank you to Joseph Trabucco, Jack Raymond, Scott Fath, and all the brothers involved for their time and effort.

Delta Nu Chapter Caps Off First Annual "Beta Beach Week"
October 10, 2016
After many months of planning, the First Annual "Beta Beach Week" kicked off last Wednesday with a campus wide push to sign the pledge to end childhood cancer, followed by a highly anticipated sorority dance competition.
The dance competition was held in the Tillman Hall auditorium and featured ten teams representing ten different sororities on campus. The performances were judged by three Clemson University basketball players, Gabe Devoe, Jaron Blossomgame, and Donte Grantham.
After thrilling displays by all ten teams, the winners were decided by narrow margins. A big congratulations to our winners, Delta Delta Delta, followed by a tie between Kappa Kappa Gamma and Zeta Tau Alpha, and Alpha Delta Pi in third.
The fundraising activities continued Thursday on Library Bridge where students could pay $1 to pie a brother in the face. The event was quite a hit. In the evening we held a proceeds night at Kung Fu Cantina where 20% of proceeds were donated directly to Beta Lei.
We took the day off Friday as we watched the Tigers beat Boston College, but the activities resumed Saturday afternoon with the main event, "Beta Lei", held at The Pier pool and clubhouse.
The afternoon consisted of a wide variety of games and competitions. Our B+ Hero, Konnor Rice, was present to meet the participating teams and hang out with the brothers. Following the games, we ended the week with a traditional round of belly flops.
A special thanks to brother Chandler Hawsey, all of those who donated, and the sororities who participated throughout the week.
